Born in New Zealand with Indian roots, Venu is a practitioner of the Vedic tradition and a qualified yoga and meditation teacher. A member of Chaitanya Academy, an international institute for the study of consciousness, he draws on his experience as an Ayurvedic practitioner, chef, gardener, permaculturalist, mythologist, and storyteller.
