Rosemary Wyndham - Jones
Rosemary is the owner and founder of Dune Lakes Lodge, a Retreat and Horse Inspired Learning Centre on the North West Coast of Auckland, New Zealand. She co-founded Equine Pathfinders Foundation, a charitable organisation whose mission is to make equine assisted growth and learning accessible to everyone.
A life-long horsewoman, Rosemary Wyndham-Jones, is a natural horse-friendship trainer, an EAGALA Facilitator (Equine Specialist), an EPONAQUEST Riding Focused Instructor and an Holistic Horse and Hoof-care Professional. Alongside her fourteen strong herd of horses she studies the dynamics and relational development of the horse/human connection. Rosemary has a warm, accepting and welcoming presence, an encouraging, relaxed style of coaching and her intuitive understanding and knowledge of horses is impressive.
For over a decade Rosemary and the herd have trained international corporate companies, adults from all backgrounds, including at-risk women, adolescents, young offenders and troubled youth. Her main love is running five day residential Kids Camps for children from all walks of life. Rosemary utilises the concepts of human psychology and instinctual herd behaviour to provide powerful life-learning experiences that both heal and empower.
The physical and psychological ‘join-up’ between clients and horses enables the former to draw metaphors relating to everyday life outside the arena, and thus learn and develop a greater sense of self knowledge and well-being.
From long and fruitful experience Rosemary says that,
“horses are excellent teachers and have the unique ability to open up awareness to our own physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. My aim is to create a ‘sacred space of possibility’ for everyone who attends our Centre. My own life is ‘touched’ every time I witness the difference that horses make in another persons’ life. I am passionate about nourishing the feeling of interconnectedness of all life and the links to our own unique sources of power.”
Rosemary’s main fields of interest are interspecies communication and connection, conscious lifestyle, holistic animal and land care, a natural approach to life and learning, photography and painting. She is an all-round advocate of health and wellness: she has a First Dan in karate, practices yoga, and rides horse to maintain her own sense of balance and fitness. She loves her life with horses and creating opportunities for people to experience their magic and gain benefit from their wisdom.
Horses, You & Your Relationship
Re-awakening the Ancient Bond — Returning to Unity Through the Way of the Horse
From the very beginnings of human existence, horses have walked beside us.
Before the plough or the saddle, before language was written or cities were built, they were already there — mirroring our evolution, reflecting our awareness, and guiding our hearts.
Through ages of harmony and of hardship, horses have remained constant: patient witnesses to humanity’s journey from unity to separation and now, at last, to remembrance. They carried us through wars, migrations, and great transformations, yet their true gift was never one of labour or conquest — it was presence.
In this experiential workshop, Horses, You & Your Relationship, we explore how horses continue to hold space for our return to natural relationship — with ourselves, with one another, and with the living earth. They teach not through words but through resonance, coherence, and embodied truth. When we enter their field of awareness, our nervous systems slow, our hearts synchronise, and we remember how to be.
You will be invited to:
Reconnect with the ancient lineage between horses and humans — a partnership older than civilisation.
Discover how horses reveal the energetic patterns that shape our relationships and communication.
Learn from their non-verbal wisdom — presence, boundaries, authenticity, and unconditional acceptance.
Explore how to cultivate unity consciousness in everyday life: moving from control to cooperation, from doing to being.
Experience guided practices with the herd that bring insight, grounding, and gentle transformation.
What you may experience:
A sense of belonging.
An awakening of intuitive listening.
Moments of stillness where the division between “you” and “other” fades — and the living field of connection re-emerges.
Who it’s for:
Anyone drawn to deepen their relationships — with partners, family, teams, or the natural world — through the presence and wisdom of horses. No horse experience is needed; only openness and curiosity.
Facilitated at Dune Lakes Lodge, surrounded by the free-roaming herd who embody the timeless truth of relationship in its purest form. Together we walk the path back to the remembering: that love is not something to be earned or learned — it is the state of being we share with all life.
This collaboration with horses is truly miraculous. Their distinct worldview, combined with their role as open-hearted, unbiased mediators, fosters trust and a unique form of communication. As we engage with these magnificent beings, we shed thoughts and conditioning, embracing the present moment and allowing trust in our bodies to unfold.
Through this immersive experience, participants will discover newfound trust, alignment, vulnerability, and authenticity. The shedding of preconceived notions opens a space for stillness and empathetic dialogue, transforming actions and behaviors and enriching relationships with our loved ones.
In this sacred exchange, the horses along with a tantric way of being guides us to:
Expand Awareness: Just as tantra encourages an expansive awareness of one's inner self, working with horses invites us to broaden our perception of non-verbal communication and emotional resonance. Horses respond to our energy, helping us become more attuned to our own and each other’s subtle signals.
Cultivate Presence: Tantra emphasises living in the present moment. Similarly, connecting with horses requires us to be fully present, engaging with them in a way that is authentic and mindful. This presence fosters trust and deepens the relationship, allowing for a more profound connection.
Embrace Mutual Growth: In tantric practice, liberation and growth are mutual processes. When working with horses, this principle is mirrored as both human and horse benefit from the shared journey. This collaboration enhances personal growth, emotional healing, and spiritual development for both parties.
Achieve Balance and Harmony: Tantra seeks to balance and harmonise energies within. With horses, this translates into creating a harmonious interaction where both the human and the horse find equilibrium, leading to a fulfilling and balanced relationship.
By integrating tantric principles with our interactions with horses, we create a space where energy flows freely, fostering a deep, transformative connection that enriches both our lives and the lives of our equine companions.
